The Book Club is taking a summer break and will be resuming at a festive lunch on Sunday February 15th. We will be discussing Gabriel Garcia Marquez' 100 Years of Solitude.
Also under discussion will be the formation of a Hebrew Speaking Group. We will talk about its format. Those with any interest (regardless of Hebrew speaking level) are most welcome to come along.
Location and time of the February meeting will be in the mid-January Newsletter.
We thank all those who have participated in our stimulating book club and look forward to another successful year.
The KN Book Club was born in about August 2005. The idea of a book club was formed when some members of KN were sitting around having a lively discussion of Amos Oz's Of Love and Darkness. We realized we were a group of keen readers who would be interested in discussing books within a book club format. And so the book club came into being.
Since then, many other novels have been read, among them Elie Wiesel's The Fifth Son, Ian McEwan's Saturday and Mark Haddon's The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
The Book Club meets once a month at a different member's home. Meetings are advertised both in the weekly News Sheet (which is Emailed to all Kehilat Nitzan members) and on this website. For further information, please contact Sonia (9530 2096).
We try to keep the groups small to facilitate lively discussion so we usually restrict our meetings to members of Kehilat Nitzan only. However, if you do want to bring a friend, please contact Sonia to check that there will be room.
