8:00 PM - 8:00 PM 9 months afterKehilat NitzanThe World Jewry series of lectures and cultural events is organised by the adult education committee at Kehilat Nitzan. This series highlights and celebrates Jewish communities from across the globe. In 2025, our speakers spoke of communities that once existed in diaspora in antiquity and of communities that are standing strong today despite their small numbers and minority status in the countries they belong to. The stories of these communities are what shape our Jewish identity. In 2025, we explored the stories of Jews from Uganda, Yemen, India, China, and the Silk Road. The series also included guided tours of both the Melbourne Holocaust museum and the Sassoon Yehuda Sephardi Synagogue, Community Centre and newly created museum dedicated to Sephardi culture and heritage. In 2026 we will continue our journey into our many and varied communities and their unique histories, while also celebrating the diversity of Jewish culture and heritage as expressed through art, literature, and music.
