Message from our President
It was wonderful to be together for all the Holy Days. Thank you all for making these so special! Most recently, led by Rabbi Yonatan, we shared the joy of Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah. Singing and dancing, as we celebrated in the Synagogue. There were wonderful kiddushim and all had a great time revelling in our history and our Jewish soul. I found it moving to think that as we ended and began reading the Torah, we were sharing what generations of Jewish people have done for thousands of years - the same time, the same text.
Mazel Tov to Mark and Odile Ellison, our Chatan and Kallah Torah.
The Board and I hope look forward to seeing at our AGM this Sunday 23rd October at 7.30 pm.

BAKING and DECORATING CUPCAKES!!!!
So don’t miss out. Sunday the 6th of November from 2:00pm - 4:00pm at Kehilat Nitzan. We hope to see all of you there and make sure you have your decorating hats on as this is going to be a blast.
 

                                        Kesher/Bnei Mitzvah Korner
We say: b’hatzlacha - good luck to Abby Bass who finished Bnei class this week and we welcome Gemma Hatfield and Michael Hughes who joined us. We read several highlights from the Torah and the kids got to think and discuss their meanings. We also learned Jewish history and Abby read from the Torah whilst we practised having an Aliyah. Welcome to Rabbi Link for joining our team to teach the students hebrew.

Tikkun Olam Connectivy Event:
Freda Hodge presents:
The role of traditional beadwork in African culture.
With unique examples,  Freda will discuss the enormous creativity and diversity to be found among beadwork produced in the cultures of various African tribes on the 8th of  November  at 11:30 am at Kehilat Nitzan, 
The history of beadwork in the culture of tribal Africa, goes back a long way. Unfortunately, examples of older work are fast being lost to modern trade, produced for the tourist industry.

Book Club Tuesday 16 November at 2:00 pm
Our next book will be 'The Trauma Cleaner' by Sarah Krasnostein, a true story based in Melbourne.

Kavanah
Join us every Shabbat Morning for “כוונה”. What is Kavanah?!
Kavanah means intention and these sessions are designed to direct our intention (or attention) towards the divine source within each one of us through intentional breathing,  chanting phrases from Jewish prayer/Torah and simply finding space to prepare ourselves for a meaningful day of Shabbat and the traditional services that follow.
When: 9am Shabbat Mornings
Where: Meet in the Rabbi’s office (at KN)

• Weekday Minyanim - Monday to Friday 7:30 am (in person at KN on Wednesdays only or on  Zoom  (M-F)

We strongly recommend wearing masks during services, a KN95 if possible.
