Talk on Ugandan Jewry with Rabbi Gershom Sizomu

Our first speaker in April is Rabbi Gershom Sizomu from Uganda. Born in 1969, Rabbi Gershom serves the Abayudaya, a Baganda community which practices Judaism near the town of Mbale in the east of the country. He is the first native-born black rabbi in Sub-Saharan Africa, and is also the first Chief Rabbi of Uganda and a member of the Ugandan Parliament. Rabbi Gershom will be joining us on the big screen via Zoom.
