We have a lineup of fun-filled, interactive and engaging Shabbat activities that we know will get your children very excited. We hope to create the perfect Jewish environment for your kids during Shabbat services, giving you, the parents, a chance to take part in the adult service without the distraction of their children while providing a meaningful experience for them.
For our next activity, on July 23rd, we will introduce the religious values of our shul through some fun and interactive games. We will teach the kids an engaging Shabbat song, which the kids may participate in during the shul service.

Solace for Jewish Grief with Sensory Nourishment At this time of struggle, our stress, grief, and disbelief are exhausting our nervous systems. This may impact our health and our relationships, and our reserves of hope may be dwindling. Please join Rabbi Yonatan Sadoff as he welcomes Yael Saar, the creator of the Sensory Nourishment Method for a skill-building workshop that aims to reduce the negative impact of such a prolonged struggle. The Sensory Nourishment method draws from current neuroscience research and the rich Jewish tradition to deliver gentle practices for solace and support for body and soul. It relies on gentle touch, movement, breath, curiosity, and prayer. It is safe and gentle for people of all ages and requires no special equipment, drugs, or supplements. Best of all, it is always within reach: quite literally at our fingertips. We will introduce the concepts and provide time for practice. We will also experiment with “Davka Alchemy”: the process of channeling rage and despair into creative expression and compassion. Yom Iyyun - Luminous
Shabbat, May 25th 12:00p to 1:00p
The Luminous exhibition at the State Library has brought some exceptional Hebrew manuscripts to Melbourne for the first time. Rabbi Yonatan and Mark Ellison will talk about some of them, from a halachic and historical point of view respectively. Among the documents we'll be looking at are a letter in Maimonides' own handwriting and a unique Judeo-Urdu manuscript which was a precursor to Bollywood, as well as a Sefer Torah from the long gone Jewish community of Kaifeng in China.
